A hollow carved cedar scaup duck decoy done in the style of the Applegate school Toms River area of the Barnegat Bay, New Jersey circa 1880. Measures 13 & 1/2 inches from the tip of the bill to the tail, painted eyes, applied ballast weight. leather anchor tie, several coats of old in use repaint, dowel peg body construction, “
WL
” painted in white under the bill and scratched into the ballast weight
“WL and XIII
” as well as the letter
“W”
stamped into the weight in the four corners. Guaranteed to be as described/pictured.
NOTE; most of the shine on the decoys is from the camera lights
